Specifications:
The Blum Minipress control panel features a safety-oriented keyed operation mode switch designed specifically to protect operators during tool changes and machine setup.
Keyed Switch Functions & Operating Modes
On equipped models (such as the M51N10xx series), the control panel splits functions based on the position of the Key Switch (D2):
- Set-Up Mode (Position 1): When the key is turned to this position, it cannot be removed.
- Pneumatics ONLY are active.
- The electric motor is completely isolated and will not run, preventing the drill bits from spinning.
- Pressing the stroke button allows the drill head to safely lower and retract pneumatically, allowing operators to configure drilling depth and verify clearances safely.
- Safety Rule: Changing drill bits, adjusting depth, or swapping gearboxes must only be performed in this mode.
- Operating / Production Mode: Turning the key to the run position enables full electrical and pneumatic controls, allowing the motor to spin the drill bits and activate the standard two-hand safety start sequence
